I personally would not let myself listen to this song at this moment in my life. But I thought I should share it here.
Today's been crazy. But it'll all be ok. I just feel like it will be.

Till we meet again.

This was taken from one of my school notebooks (you can see some physiology notes in the background. As well as my signature, which appeared hundreds more times throughout the book.)

For some reason, whenever I end up someplace, at some point I will be overtaken by these words, and not just because they belong to a favorite song of mine.

This is a problem.

Maybe a good life goal would be to change this mindset. And maybe it just means that I need to suck it up and deal with being human every once and a while.

Oh well.

Happy Mother's Day.

Back To My Roots

Today I got to go work cows on our ranch one last time before I leave. I haven't done this in a few years, for a variety of reasons, and I have to say that although I appreciate the memories I have, I think I preferred today's lower-stress version (made possible by a much smaller herd and only me, my dad, and the live-in farm hand [who actually pretty much runs the show] to worry about)
So after a sunburn-inducing day of ear-tagging, branding, vaccinating, pocketknife castrating (you don't really want to know), 4-wheeling out on what turned out to be the (not as exciting as it sounds) rescue of a stranded baby calf, 8 hours without a bathroom, narrowly avoiding broken glasses after getting whacked in the head by a cow, adorable newborn calves and crazy bulls, and a classic Preston Big J burger to finish out the day, I'd call it a success.

(all pics taken on my crappy phone, hence the crappy quality)

Taken when I was sitting on the hay trailer. I could seriously sleep on  a bed of hay. For at least one night.

I love this view.

Grandpa on his tractor (taken for my nephew, who talks of almost nothing but tractors and Grandpa)

Some of the calvies, after we were done with them. See those orange tags on their ears? Yeah, I put them there.  It's a really useful skill to have, probably.

My favorite calf, in the chute. He was a sweet boy. I tagged that silver tag too. (It's not that hard, I don't know why I  keep bringing it up)

New Favorite Quote

So I have this app on Spotify that quickly makes these picture things from song lyrics and this is bad that I have so much free time now because I could basically make these all the time. Tonight I limited myself by just using every stock photo they had one time. And I am only posting them here because I felt even more lame just making them and saving them. So......yeah. Hooray for songs! I guess I'm like building my own cheesy pinterest here since I don't have a regular person pinterest. And because sometimes you have nothing better to do a lot of things you're avoiding doing on a Thursday night/very early Friday morning.
